Illegal ban on sale of meat

Dear Shri Chautala,
May I draw your attention to the prohibition on sale of meat and meat products, even eggs, in Palwal by the local Municipal Council thorough a resolution adopted by majority vote under pressure from a local Mahant. The local police is enforcing the patently unlawful resolution.

The Municipal Council had no authority to impose a ban on any lawful trade and profession.

I, therefore, request you to advise the Municipal Council that its resolution, being against the Constitution, has no validity and instruct the local authorities including the police to protect those shopkeepers who wish to ply their lawful trade.
