N.Y. Dole Passes Away
Shri N.Y. Dole, President, Maharashtra PUCL, suffered a heart attack and passed away on October 10, 2001. Prof. Dole was the President of the Maharashtra PUCL since 1991. He was actively involved in the work of rehabilitation of the tribals uprooted under the Narmada Dam. In 1992 he had conducted an enquiry into the firing on the tribals at Taloda Taluk of Dhule district. He was also actively associated with Vishamataa Nirmoolan Parishad along with Baba Adhav. He was the Principal of M.U. College Udgir.
In his death Maharashtra had lost a very active human rights worker. The PUCL has suffered a great loss.
