Elections to the Bihar & Jharkhand Branch PUCL

The first meeting of the joint State council of Bihar and Jharkhand was held on September 23, 2001 at Patna. This is a step towards the formation of the separate Jharkhand State branch.

Members and observers attended the meeting from Jamshedpur, Palamu, Ranchi, Garhwa, and from other parts of Bihar. Following were elected unanimously:

President: Ram Chandralal Das; General Secretaries: Kishori Das, Surendra Kumar; Vice Presidents: Vinay K Kanth, Sudha Vergese, Asutosh Kumar, Arun Kumar, and S. Bhattacharjee; Secretaries: Daisy Narayan (Ms), Mithlesh Kumar, Lalbabu Paswan and Shaukat Ali Khan.

Some more members will be added from Jharkhand region later on
