Documents lost due to a computer crash at PUCL office.

We are glad to inform the members and subscribers of the PUCL Bulletin that a large part of the data that we lost has beed retrieved. Last month we were able compose again the June issue of the Bulletin and its mailing list in time and were able to mail the issue on our fixed date. the attempts to reconstruct the rest of the data and documents are going on.

The technical advice and financial support received from Shri. Yogesh V. Kamdar and Shri M. A. Rane of Mumbai has been a great help.

My colleagues in the office went out of their way to retrive and reconstruct the lost files. I have to acknowledge the dedication of Babita Valsa, Bindu, Govind Raj, and Jitendra Kapoor for their timely and invaluable help.-- Y. P. Chhibbar, General Secretary and Chief Editor

Earlier note, June 2002
Work in our office received a disastrous blow when all our MS Word documents in the computer were deleted twice past fortnight. Our entire database built up during the past number of years has been destroyed. We are trying to reconstruct the whole thing, but paucity of human and monetary resources is coming in the way; progress is very slow.

In the coming months our responses are going to be slow. Please bear with us.

In the meanwhile, if you have any materials on your computers that you had sent us, kindly E-mail it to us again as attachments so that we have it in our records. If you can share our expenses in this reconstruction, we will be thankful. -- Y. P. Chhibbar, General Secretary and Chief Editor
