Jharkhand High Court acts against corrupt judicial officials

The Jharkhand High Court had received complaints of corruption against 14 judicial officers.

The former Chief Justice V.K. Gupta, had then ordered an enquiry into these complaints by the Court Vigilance Cell. The Cell sent its recommendations.

The High Court directed the personnel departments to route its recommendations to the State Government. As a result the state cabinet compulsorily retired 6 judicial officers under Section 74(B) of the State Service because of their service record.

These are: Payare Mohan Lal, acting Additional Judicial Commissioner, Ranchi; Ram Siya Singh, Additional Judge, Palamau; Badru Jama Ansari, Additional Sessions Judge, Lohardaga; Harinarayan Singh, Additional Sessions Judge, Palamau; Ishwari Prasad, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sahebgunj; Mahesh Prasad Tiwari, Jharkhand State Legal Service Authority.
