Please Let me refer you another case of a Pakistani Hindu Minor Danish
Kumar who is languishing in Gharinda Police Station. I am confident enough
that your riveted stance against human agonies would urge you to do your
utmost in releasing this minor as well.SHARP(Society for Human Rights
and Prisoners Aid) is a non-governmental organization working to protect
and promote human rights and extending its assistance to the needy people.

The following text reveals some facts about the minor child.
A Pakistani Hindu Minor in Indian Custody
We appeal to the governments of Pakistan and India, the philanthropist
organizations and anyone bearing the capacity to play an effective role
in the release and repatriation of a Pakistani Hindu Minor Danish Kumar
(Dinesh Lal as per The Tribune news) s/o Chaman Lal who languishing
in the Indian custody since 27th June 2003.
The desperate parents approached SHARP to help them get their child back.
SHARP has taken the case on a humanitarian basis and is striving in its
capacity to relief the beleaguered family.
SHARP has also filed an application on 15th July 2003 to the Indian High
Commission for Pakistan requesting the effective and immediate measures
to resolve this issue which has created great concerns in the family of
the child who belongs to a minority group in Pakistan while to majority
group in India. SHARP urges all the humanitarian bodies on the Indian
soil to come forward and help us in soothing the aching eyes of a mother
and take pride in serving the humanity.According to the information provided
by his parents who approached SHARP office on July 14 2003 Danish Kumar
fled his home fearing rage of his parents due to failure in the SSc Annual
Examination of Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad
2003 as per gazette result of the said board announced on 25th June 2003.
Parents of the child were on a visit to their native village Umarkot District
Mirpurkhas (Sind) when the child escaped from his home on 26th June 2003.
This was duly reported in Kohsar Police Station Islamabad on 27th June
2003 while the disappearance was notified in daily newspaper Jang
on 1st July 2003.
This was later on known through electronic edition of The Tribune (India)
of 29th June 2003 that the child was in the custody of Indian Boarder
Security Forces (BSF) while he was trying to enter India through gate
101 at Wagah border. He was handed over to Gharinda Police station by
the BSF for not having the legal documents. As per report of The
Tribune Police did not recover anything from the child. The police
has registered a case at Gharinda police. According to SHARP sources the
child is still on remand and might be brought to court on 11th August
2003 for further proceedings.
