K.P. Saxena

K.P. Saxena, former Professor of International Organisation, Jawahar Lal Nehru University and founding Director, Centre for Promotion of Human Rights Teaching and Research died of Cardiac arrest on June 2, 2004 at the age of 76.

His death is a great loss to Human Rights movement, especially to the PUCL in Delhi. He was earlier Advisor, Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. He represented India a number of times to the UN General Assembly and other UN bodies.

He was the Secretary General of World Congress on Human Rights held at Delhi in December 1990 convened by HURITER and the Geneva UN Centre for Human Rights. He authored and/or edited a number of books. -- Y.P. Chhibbar, Ph.D., General Secretary
