Murder of Prem Kumar Srivastava
Prem Kumar Srivastava, a very active member of Muzaffarpur (Bihar) PUCL and a noted social worker known to come to the rescue of anyone who knocked at his door, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in broad day light on Sunday 9 June, 2002 while he was returning to his residence.

The assailants disappeared with his motorbike, but snatching the bike is not believed to be the motive behind the murder. The police are clueless about the criminals.

A meeting of the Muzaffarpur PUCL was held on 13.6.2002 in which leaders of almost all social organisations of the city participated to condole his death. Rich tributes were paid to him and the police were urged to identify and arrest the culprits
