Crackdown on the Students, Youths and Cultural Activists at Faizabad, UP

A report

The PUCL strongly condemns the crack down on cultural activists who had assembled to observe the day of 1857 revolt from all over the country. If a Shaheed Mela and a sadbhawanaa march is suppressed, what is permitted? It is a suppression of peaceful assembly. Human rights and civil liberties are coming more and more under attack in the country today. All of have to protect the rights granted under the constitution, otherwise it will be too late and democracy will become hollow.
